    Blue Urine
Hi all, I have looked everywhere for an answer, but this seems to have thrown everyone! I have a female ball python, aprox 2 years and 1 month old. I got her in November last year and she's great! This week is the first week she has refused a feed. Her last shed she was too dry and struggled (she was staying with a friend for a few weeks while my electrics were upgraded). She is very much n sluff now, and is not happy. But I have just removed some urine from her tank that was mostly blue (and a little white)! Has anyone got any idea why?

What kind of substrate are you using? Blue doesn't sound normal, but if you're using newspaper or something with a colored dye, it could be from that.

No she's on bark. Very wet bark, as she throws water everywhere! lol

well, higher production of bile in the liver can cause the normally white urates to appear a yellowish green, but blue I don't know about.

I know that. But this was most definitely blue, I mean face book blue! She's not happy, although more lethargic than anything else.

Hmm.. I don't have any other thoughts or suggestions. It was just the first thing that came to mind. Good luck and hopefully someone can come up with some sort of explanation...

I would switch her to paper towels just so you can see the waste a little better.

That is really odd. I don't know what could cause it to be blue. :(

I am inclined not to disturb her too much, as she is seriously not happy and within the next day will shed. After that I'll take her for a check up. Thanks anyway! :)
