    Laying under paper towel
    So my little new guy is laying under his paper towel right on the uth which is reading 88 will that burn him?

    I am new to hatchlings so im sure this wont be my only question down the road.

    Make sure under the paper towels the temp isn't getting hotter then 94F and he should be fine mine does it all the time.

    With a digital thermometer. Probe placed right on the bottom of tub over the uth. I use paper towel as substrate so the temp on top is just.about the same.

    under my paper towels the temps reaches like 93F but above the towels it reaches 90F i measure surface temp with Temp Gun and under surface with thermometer probe

    You should be fine but remember that the digital thermometers like the AcuRites have been known to be off a few degrees so it may be a good idea to pick a temp gun to double check.

    Thats why im trying to keep it close to 88-90 to give a few degrees leway

    Joking aside, your snake will not burn unless the temps exceed 95* for a long period of time.

    I just wanted to make sure hes not getting burned under there. Ive seen a lot of horror stories.

    As long as temp on tub under towels is within range, you will be fine. My mojave prefers to be under the towels, as well as in his hide. That's where he always is. Weird little dude.
