    Disinfecting after RI
My snake rack system is built in to a little room I built. That means I can't remove the rack from the room and clean/rinse it easily.

After finding a snake with an RI, I'd like to thorougly clean and disinfect the entire rack. How do I effectively do this? Would a steamer be the best option? I know there are a lot of disinfectants I could use, but I worry that I won't be able to get any residue completely rinsed off. Help is GREATLY appreciated!

Steamers are great but you need a unit that produces HOT steam (many do not it cools off very quickly) I personally use a commercial one that is great you need to keep an area hot for at least 5 min so it is not really fast. I would suggest using F10 it is a very broad spectrum and has a reasonable contact time. The dilution of 1:125 and a 10 min contact time. The surfaces need to be soaking wet and clean. Personally I sponge my rack out with hot water and soap (disconnect the power) Rinse it fully steam (I have it anyway) wipe down and then saturate with the F10 wait TEN min (I re-saturate half way through). The only way to be certain a disinfectant is doing what you want it to is to follow the manufacturer technical instructions exactly. There are basically no disinfectants that work on un washed surfaces and nothing that is safe to use that works on contact.
