    Jungle carpet python
Hey all, I was offered $150 for a hatchling jungle carpet python, and was wondering if it is a good deal? I've kept rosy boas and ball pythons, but not carpet pythons, so aren't really sure how much they are worth. Thanks for your help.

I did a quick search on the Fauna classifieds. Seems like the avg price is between $100 and $150 plus shipping.

JCP vary in price. It depends on what the parents looked like and linage. Also is it a pure JCP or a mix? You can spend as little as $75 or as much as 650+ depends on the colors of parents and linage.

150 is a bit on the steep side unless from a good breeder. If it's just some tom :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: and harry, I would pass as you can get pure lines from VPI lineage for around 175 + Shipping with very nice markings and colors. I've paid as little as $80 for some girls that were supposedly pure. They have nice wild patterns / coloration, but they are quite unattractive compared to my VPI male that has strong contrasts, then again I paid 160 for him plus shipping. Shop around. Figure out what its worth for you, and if you want the strong yellows, or more drab natural wild coloration.
