Frustrating! Feeding question.

So i now know the ball python feeding frustration. Today was the girst time my guy has refused since hes been with me. 7 weeks.
I left the rat in for 15 minutes. He went uo to it sniffed it about 10 times with no strike so I took the rat out. Now hes drinking water and seems to be in hunt mode now but i already disposed of the rat.

So should i go get another? Or just wait till next scheduled feeding day?

If mine refuse I always hold onto the rat for a few hours

I need to get a rat cage to hold the rat when he doesnt eat, but hes never refused before so there wasnt a need. Guess its now time for a back up plan.

Hes still out hunting (15 min after i took the rat out) i guess the rat smell is still lingering.

Never hurts to have a cage of sorts and some rat food to keep rats after a refusal. When I started keeping snake I went out and got a large hamster cage to keep rats that were not eaten, now I have a rat rack... how times change! ;)

Wait a week to feed again and repeat, he'll eat again when he is ready. Just wait until you get one that goes 6 months... lol

No i gave it to my friends carpet python. I say disposed just because I got rid of it.
