    Wow, what a gem!
There is a small creek a few miles from my house, tons of water falls and huge rocks. Perfect spot for herp adventures. So, I take my pit/lab mix out there with me quite often around this time of year. When the summer is starting to fade and the snakes aren't hiding. Well, I got quite a surprise this time. I found the most beautiful green snake I have ever seen. These snake hold a special place in my heart because when I was about 5 years old I found one, and my parents let me keep it for a week or two. That is what began my fascination with reptiles. So when I saw this guy, my eyes just lit up. I was tempted to carry him home with me but he's in surprisingly good shape, no bumps or cuts. Perfect specimen. So I thought I'd share the picture I snapped on my phone with you guys.
