    3rd winter, weight, or both?
Curious what everybody personally does? I'll be waiting for both. All my girls are 2011 hatchlings, a June, August, and October. So I have another year to go. Even though I think my bee will be up to weight by this winter. I just weighed her and she is 1060, she has put on 200 grams in the last month. She is an eating machine, never skips a meal, and has steadily been gaining like that. My pastel and butter are a little ways behind her. I can hardly stand the wait! I just can't wait to see my own little babies pip! I would love to see a spider and a BEL!

I usually wait for both. Every time I've had a female that seemed like she'd be ready to go sooner, she quit eating right before she got big enough. However, I have bred smaller females, if they are more than 3 years old. I've had a few that were just petite, even though they had good body condition and were older, and they bred and laid just fine.

IMO both, in my experience it's easier to just plan on 3 year olds, that way you don't have to push the female to get to weight in time, and their bodies should be more than ready to make eggs. You can always try to get them to weight early, but that doesn't mean they will go.

I'm not planning on pushing anybody. I plan on waiting. Was just curious what others guidlines are. I know the way mine are growing they will be good and ready next year. I am just so excited though, I can't wait till I'm there!
