    Shadowing on eggs
I have seven ball python eggs. That either have mold or some kind of shadowing on them. This is my first clutch they are 44 days along but I am freaking. They all have veins, haven't checked for movement. If the egg has a little mold on it will it harm the baby?

No, a little mold won't harm the egg but a pic might help show the amount of mold.
There should be plenty of movement in the eggs by now, I see quite a bit in the pewter het clown eggs I have cooking and they are at about 38 days

I just candled them and saw movement in all but one which is the biggest egg but the veins are still bright red so assuming in was hiding at the bottom? Cause the egg is kind of upright from the way the mother laid it. Does that seem plausible? Can't get the pic to upload...the upload thing keeps running away from me. Can I email it to you?

Here's the pic, I believe the eggs are soaking up water.
I would suggest putting the eggs on egg crate but I haven't incubated eggs in the substrate so I'm not sure what to advise...

Hmm, that one that is dark doesn't look great, it looks really wet. I would also switch them to substrateless and try to get them dried out a bit.

Okay so I took all of the vermiculite out of the container and put the eggs back into the container in the incubator with nothing. Now how do I at least keep them humid so they don't dry out and dimple? They arent that far from pipping and there is movement in all eggs but I don't want to lose any of them. They are at 45 days. Any and all suggestions are welcomed:)

    Hi,

I think they meant put plastic egg crate on top of the vermiculite not remove the vermiculite alltogether.

That would prevent the eggs coming into contact with the medium but still allow the humidity to be spot on.

Yes, you want to leave your substrate in, but get the eggs off of it, usually by using egg crate/light diffuser. You need the verm to keep the humidity up in the tub.
