Hoping for better luck this time

I'm starting to think I just have horrible luck. Yesterday at 10:30 I felt like I was on top of the world. I had just put down a deposit on a male pastel pied that I have been wanting for a while. Barely 3 hours later I am told that my 6 month contract is going to ending 3 months early and I have 2 weeks to find a new job. This will be my second job hunt of the year and I am hoping I have better luck this time around. I turned down a few other jobs offers because I had already accepted this contract, I didn't know they could just end it whenever they wanted. At least one of the places I had interviewed with at the end of April are still interested so I will have to see where that goes, but I thought I would have more time to job hunt and I would be able to find a position in Madison, WI which is where I want to go back to. :(

I don't think I will consider doing consulting work again after this, the pay is nice but there is no such thing as job security with it. :(
