    3-Month Old BP At 80g
Title says it all, I bought my first BP bout a week ago and fed him a few days later, he eats quite normally till now but when I weighed him I realised he's only 80 grams! He doesn't look thin in real life but when comparing him to other male bp weights, he seems to be pretty under!

Could it be that he's younger than 3 months? There is no way for me to make sure but I'm pretty sure the seller wasn't lying to me. Also, this is what i'm feeding him (the pinky is for my 6-month old corn, which is at 20g o.o)

Should I start feeding him once every 5 days or is that the normal weight for a snake his age?

That sounds pretty light. Either the previous owner wasn't feeding it enough or it is younger than 3 months. I'd start him on a 5 day schedule to get his weight up a bit more.

That's what i thought too, but I'm pretty sure he's correct about the age, and according to the munson plan (for corns), I should be feeing my corn 2 pinkies every 5 days, instead of the 1 pinky every 7 the pet store owner told me to feed.

Can't even trust the most renowned pet stores today either I guess.

Anyway, lets get 'em fat :D

I have many that are 80g right out of the egg! So that's pretty light. Definitely feed twice a week.

:8: I think you'll find that the "most renowned pet stores" are the worst for reptile advice. Your baby could have been very small out of the egg and/or a slow starter to eat, which is why he's only 80g now. Feed him every 4-5 days and you'll see him keep growing.

All of my babies that have just hit 3 months are above 80 grams, though a couple of them are close. They refused food for the first 2 months, though. So yes, it's small.

I had hatchlings that were 75g and are up to 100g in a month. It really depends om hatch weight and feeding schedule.

Thanks guys :) Also, does the rat/mouse i'm feeding him in the picture look big enough? It's the same size of his belly so i'd say its good enough but if there's anything else out there that he could take to speed up the process, it would be preferable.

It's possible he is 3 months old. I got my male Pastel Enchi at 87g and he was born in August. (I received him in November).
