    Ultramels and Criders
I hear so many diffrent things about these two. I want to know if anyone has proven that these two are compatable or not.
    Thanks,
    Marty

So far they have been proven not to be compatible...

Brock Wagner bred visual Ultramel x het Crider and only produced normals...

Breeding visual Ultramel x visual Crider will be the only way to know for sure though.

it's unbelievable that nobody else in all these years has attempted to try and prove these things out. certainly there has to be somebody out there that has done it

There probably is someone that has tried. Remember not all breeders come to these forums to report findings and what not.

2x the fact that not everyone frequents forums --

Too, though, I think that for a lot of these genetics questions, many breeders are more focused on making new combo morphs than with proving out the genetics of currently established morphs -- particularly when we're talking about fairly rare ones. For one thing, I recon not many breeders have dozens of ultramels and criders in their collections to spare one or two on proving out compatibility -- especially if the evidence so far suggests that they may not get much to show for it. I'd imagine that the temptation to use the breeding stock on projects to create the first ever of a given combo is a little too great for most people. ;)
