normals
when breeding why are female normals good to have? sorry if this is a stupid question

Re: normals
With most of the genes being dominant or co dominant and female normals running very cheap, the combination othe two make them valuable. If you have a double or triple gene male that's most co-dominant genes, then if you breed him to a normal, he has a 50% chance if passing each gene to his babies.

so its kinda like u have a better chance of getting what you want

No. It doesn't increase your odds.

It doesn't increases your chances of getting what you want. By investing in normals, it's much cheaper than buying a double, triple, or quad gene female, but the trade off is that you are gambling with genetics. If you have a female normal, your best odds for getting what you want are 50/50 PER GENE. For example, if you have a triple gene male and you want a triple gene baby, you have 50/50 for one gene, 50/50 for the second gene, and 50/50 for the third gene. So, in order to get that triple gene baby, you multiply your odds. So, 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/8 chance of getting that triple gene baby. Those aren't very good odds, especially if your clutch size is only 3-4 eggs. If getting a specific morph is what you really want and you want to increase your odds and make them higher than 50/50 per gene, you need to invest in non-normal females.

Also think if you have a single gene co-dom that fetches roughly 1k per offspring and have an adult normal female that might be worth to most people 75-150 dollars. But if you get 6 eggs from that female and 50% of the offspring should be $1000 that would be why the 75 dollar normal snake is worth so much to the owner/breeder.

They make more eggs :) I like having some normals around to breed my doms and co-doms to. Some day I might cut back on the number of normal girls, but right now I like having them to help fill up my female breeder rack.

I think he means you have more of a chance to get what you want. Like more eggs from more females means you'll have better chances of hatching out what you want.
Im not sure if thats what was meant, but thats how i understood it.
