    Vacation prep for snakes
So we're leaving on Saturday morning for a 9 day vacation. Does anyone do anything specific when you prep your snakes for when you go away?

    Don
Everyone gets a clean bin and a full container of fresh water. I feed the day before leaving and cleaning. On the way out, I check on everyone. As soon as I come home, check again, clean water and bins. Nine days for adults should be fine. If you have babies, you might want to have someone come by and feed them, but they should be OK if you don't have someone to do that.

When we go on vacation, we have someone move into our house to take care of the animals. We put together a list of things that need attention in our absence. The great thing about ball pythons is that they don't absolutely have to have attention every day. That is one reason they make such great pets.

I do the same as Don. Feed the day before, clean tubs and water the day I go and double check everyone. As soon as I get back, check everyone and get them back on to a feeding schedule (if I was gone long enough to have it thrown off). I do have babies, and a few go 10+ days at a time not eating on their own, so I wouldn't be too concerned with it, unless you are going to be gone longer than that.

I would want to have someone at least check on your house just to make sure no safety issues arise while you are gone.

Do not feed your snake, before leaving last thing you want is leave on vacation with snakes that have just ate, should one regurge after you left you could comeback to a real desater.

I stop all feeding 7 days prior to a trip.

Clean the tub on Friday and water your snakes and you'll be ready to go.

Thanks much! No babies here, so we should be fine with that.
