Welp, it finally happened. My house lost power last night, the stove didn't even work. I believe it was due to either the thunderstorms in the area or the major forest fires that are near here, either way, I was panicking! Both of my ball pythons, Perry and Draco, had their heat mats controlled by hydrofarms which had also lost power. Their thermometers were showing a significant heat loss and the power had been off for an hour already. We had no way of knowing when the power was coming back on and I was DEFINITELY not letting my babies freeze because of some stupid weather! Thankfully my boyfriend lives thrity min away and he let me take my babies over there so they could have their heat back... that is most definitely the greatest thing he could have done. To say he is my hero is an understatement at this point! They are moved back home as of right now even though he said they were welcome to stay for at least a few days. So, thankfully, this is not a disaster post, just a praise. :D

How cold is your house? As long as its in the 70s the snakes would be ok for awhile. Its summer here so without the ac on my house doesnt get below the 80s lol. My snakes would be fine, id be the one dying from the heat haha!

Glad to hear theyre ok though. What a good bf. This story proves not all guys are bad haha! +1 for Team Male

Glad you found a solution. I have a case of 40 hour shipping heating packs as my backup if the power goes out. That and a large generator.

You do have to make contingency plans!

Yes and in the winter I would have had backups for this situation, but I never dreamed a power outage where I live, I really think it was the crazy wild fires that I wasn't paying any attention to
