How often do you use your IR temp gun ???

.... Is there a rule of thumb for checking your surface temps in an enclosure ?? .... Thanks for the help

I check temps twice or more a day with my temp gun.
I just point it to the hotside then move to the cold side to do my readings. I like to point the gun pretty close to the target in order to get a more accurate reading.

Nothing really fancy.

I check every couple days, but I use racks. If I used tanks I'd probably check a lot more. I do check the thermostat probes daily though to make sure they're secure.

With a new setup I check it constantly. Once they are dialed in I mostly watch the ambient temps and only check with the gun every few days.

I check at least once a day or more. I trust my thermostat pretty well, but I still check. Its probably because I have to make checks at work, every half hour, with an IR temp gun. I don't get that crazy at home, but the constant use is habit forming.

thanks guys , my enclosure has been set up for awhile . Didnt get around to getting a temp gun as soon as I would have liked but all temps are looking good all the way around.

I use mine every other day or so just to check my setup :)
