    Just wondering
Why everyone thinks weighing food is so important to you all??? Do they have anything to weigh their own food with in the wild or do they just eat what they get??!! I mean yeah, I can understand not feeding it prey that is twice its size or bigger, but you don't need to measure the weight every time. As long as you can judge the size difference with ur eyes you are good!!!!

    I don't weigh food.
I just estimate and feed off appropriate sized rats.

Some people also document everytime the snake craps and when they change water... Thats crazy imo too, but some people have alot of time on their hands lol.

Yeah lol, I could understand if you have a lot of snakes and need to keep track of who ate when lol. But I think bp's are relatively easy to satisfy as they can live in a tub with a hide and some water lol

When I just had my first BP I logged everything. Now with 11 snakes, 4 geckos and a tarantula I just log when people eat, poop, and shed. I log official weights when they are empty.

Never weighed food. I base whos getting feed what size rodent by how big the snake is.
Everyone of my snakes has its own cage card. The card records when it ate, defecated, weights, shed, and refusals. I keep good records because i like to get weights after one snake defecates to give a more accurate (empty) weight. I feel everyone should keep cage card for their snakes(even if its just feeding/refusals/weights) just for the simple fact that if your ball python starts a fasting period, unless you mark it as refusals, 6 weeks could really be 10+ weeks with no food, and unless you know weights you dont know how much the snake has truly lost.
but i guess i just like having all my records in order. i also take photcopies of all papers that come with a animal, and put the originals in my safe, and photocopies go into the snakes folder.
