    Holy cow!
I actually got a picture of my OBT. This is like hitting the lottery! The only time I see "it" is little orange arms lightning speed snatching up a cricket from it's hole lol.

    Haha Nice! Gratz!

Do you have pictures of its habitat posted anywhere on here? Spiders are one of those animals/insects I'm uber afraid of but also like learning about.

What does the OB stand for? How big is it?

OBTs are not "friendly" tarantulas at all. OBT has many meanings. I believe the actual name is Usambara Baboon Tarantula, which has changed to Orange Baboon Tarantula, and is basically now referred to as "Orange Bitey Thing" aka OBT. The picture I took of it, is in it's enclosure. I actually just use small acrylic boxes from Michael's (an arts and crafts store) and solder holes for ventilation. Add a little substrate (and sometimes pieces of bark or something) and viola. They basically move everything around, build tunnels, and web everything the way they want anyways, so I never have put anything extravagant in my tarantulas enclosures.

"Orange Bitey Thing" Sorry, but LMAO!

Either way thanks for the lesson. I guess there isn't much to their enclosures, I forget they can stay in things the size of large critter keepers.

It is a cool looking spider. :)

Not a spider guy but that thing is pretty cool. And good idea with the acrylic boxes.

How big is that box? It looks like there wouldn't be enough room for it to move around much, but I know exactly nothing about Tarantulas, Orange Bitey ones or otherwise.

Most tarantulas don't require a lot of space. :gj:

Cool pic, Laura. I'd love to have an OBT, but I'm not too keen on the idea of having a "pet hole". ;)

It's probably 6x6 inches or so. They don't require a lot of space especially when they're young. He's got his holes and webs, he's happy I promise ;)

And a pet hole with venomous fangs at that! I'm going to get a tarantula, but I'll avoid the OBTs and other OW T's for a long while.

    Neat little buggers though.
