    Boa sketchy after stupid visitors
To make a long story short, I was at work, the wife was with the baby. My mom and her friend with two little girls came over today. My mom decided top show them the snakes, my boa about 5 feet, few years old. Anyway, she said they went into the room and the girls ram up to the tank and stared very close. Then she said the boa struck the front glass 3 times pretty hard. He had never ever done this in all the years iv had him. So when I got home, I instantly went to see him. Opened up the tank, pet him a few times them closed it. All good it seems. Went down alittle later to clean his tank and when I took him out, I could hear a whistle sound from breathing. Also a few scales on his nose are messed up. Will he be OK? I know some will day it sounds like an RI, but its not. I'm guessing his nose is messed up from striking the front when he did. Then when I put him back, I went to fill his water dish and clean it. Came back to put it in and he piled himself in the corner and looked like he was gonna strike.

I just want to make sure he will be OK. Any help is very much appreciated!

I'm guessing the little girls may have done more than just stare. Perhaps charge, tap on the glass. Bounce about like energetic children. Might let him me for a few days, he was probably traumatized, poor guy. I'm guessing he will be ok, as long as his nose heals ok.

yeah, maybe give him a week of utter silence and don't bug him. little girls banging on the glass screaming sounds about right. hope he is alright.

Yeah I think I will leave him alone for a few days. Makes me soo mad. He had been the coolest, super chilled and relaxed snake iv ever had. Now, nobody is allowed in the snake room when the wife or I are not home or busy. I hate to see animals scared or in pain, especially my own.

I just put a key only deadbolt on my snake room door. Especially since they are my prized possessions (not worth too much but to me) and would kill me to see a roomies bf or some other inexperienced random going around with them w/o permission. I keep my boas in my coffee table though. Never had a problem like yours however. Best of lucky to your guy though.

Good idea with the key only deadbolt. Also, f-bombs should be avoided here, as people of all ages use this site and even grown folk (myself included) find its use distasteful in this context.

OK kind of an update. Cleaning his tank today and it sounds like his nose still sounds the same way. He's gonna shed any day now so didn't want to bug him too much. Go to the vet? Feeding day is coming up, should I try feed and see what happens? Any suggestions?
