    Alternative to AcuRite in Canada?
Looking to find a decent alternative to Acurite thermometers here in Canada. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it!

Cross, you can get them at can tire.

They are about the same quality of the accurites. That said they are not very accurate. They specs (last set I saw is 2ºF and 15%RH up or down) are not very good. I personally don't like placing batteries in enclosures either. I would suggest cheap aquarium thermometers (I pay about 1-3$ each off ebay) I recommend buying a handful and checking them against each other (3 min and 5 is better) Using the ones that read the same they are likely correct. The hygrometers I like are analogue ones from humidors (about 8$ each western instruments are my personal fav) they are more accurate out of the box than most digitals and can be calibrated easily so checking and correcting is a simple task.

some of these only read ºC so if you care about ºF check carefully.
