Low temp in incubator

So I'm in Japan on a deployment. While I'm away a friend is watching all my snakes for me, including 5 eggs that were laid 2 days after I got here. The eggs were due to hatch out the 9th-17th. But I just found out that the eggs have been cooking at 83 degrees this whole time. That's about 7 degrees under, do I have anything to worry about other than more time in the oven?

83 is a little low, but if they made it this far intact they should be fine. You probably will have to wait an extra week or two before you see activity, though. I wouldn't adjust the temp up too much, if at all. Eggs seem to react more negatively towards temperature swings than lower, stable temps.

I would also leave them, they will definitely take longer than normal. I wouldn't change the temp since the temp swing could definitely cause some problems. You'll have to keep us updated on how they do. I'm interested to know if they can be incubated that low since it was a stable temp rather than a temp swing. I wouldn't be surprised if they hatch 1-2 weeks late.

The plan was to just leave them. I didn't want to risk anything happening to them by changing anything this late in the game. Just one more to thing to add to my sting of bad luck. First the snake that started it all for me and my wife got stuck inside a heat bulb cage and cooked himself, then I find out the eggs have been cooking on low this whole time, then today I find out that an enchi female (for a screaming deal) got sold today and the people that had her didn't see the two emails I sent about her last week. I'm having a great week so far.

I know the feeling, I was working on a great deal for a 1.1 het clown pair, I was trying to get as much detail as I could, and when I sent the e-mail saying I would take them, he said they just sold before he got my e-mail... I was a little pissed, all happened in the course of 30min or less.

not much you can do but wait. 83 is low, but I also think if it was a fairly steady 83, they should hatch and you should have big healthy hatchlings. I know breeders who incubated at low temps with great results. your temps are slightly lower than what they incubated at. I wouldn't change the temps any. vpi and the breeder who incubated at lower temps has also change temps durning incubation with another clutch, both reported bad results.
