I know that someone here was looking at buying some cinnies from this breeder a while back but I am not sure if they did or not. I can't find anything on BOI but I don't have an account so I can't do an actual search and they won't give me an account while I'm here in Afghanistan since the IP address doesn't match my address.

So has anyone here bought from them or know someone who has?

So I heard back from Bill Olewnicki, who I presume to be the owner of ScalesorTails.com, the same day that I messaged him. Also, he is willing to hold the animal until I return from Afghanistan in December, so I may be paying for him come payday on the 31st! I will keep you guys informed but based on the first contact with him he seems like a solid guy and the animals on his website are beautiful.

You have to pay in full now? I always like to just pay a portion if it's on hold so I have some reassurance. I think 20% seems to be a common amount.

I don't have to but I asked if he would hold it for 4 1/2 months if I paid in full. He said that he normally doesn't do that but has family in the Army and would be willing to help me out since I am in Afghanistan. After he said he'd do that I told him that I would be willing to pay an extra $50 boarding fee if he'd let me both out of appreciation and for his troubles of continuing to feed it and hold it for me. I haven't heard back yet but I would still be getting a male VPI Axanthic for $325 if I paid the extra $50. That's still a good deal in my opinion.

Helping you out shouldn't include you paying full payment plus $50 IMO. Anyway, if you pay in full it would probably be a good idea to pay through PayPal or a credit card so that you can get your money back if he doesn't deliver on the snake.

The fact that he is willing to hold the snake for almost 5 months is helping him out. I dont know of any breeders that would hold a snake for more than 3. If he pays only a down payment than he would have to pay it off anyway over the months to have the snake delivered. I dont think anyone would hold a snake for that long with only 20% down and no monthly payment plan. And the added 50 bucks is voluntary by the OP. Sounds like the guy didnt ask for an extra 50.

That is correct Andy (or is it Bill? LOL), I offered to pay it after he offered to hold onto it for me, and I am the one that offered to pay in full right off the bat. He got back to me briefly again already but said he had to run into work and would be answering my email when he got home. The fact that he emailed me to tell me that he was going to email me on a sunday morning to me says that communication probably won't be a problem. Either way, I will pay with paypal or a credit card as that is all that I can pay with from here in Afghanistan. I supposes that I could mail him around 16,000 Afghani, huh? Not sure that he would accept that as s form of payment, though!

We've been in touch back and forth four times now and the communication with Bill is fantastic! He never takes more than a half a day to reply to an email. He also said that he will not let me pay any extra for "boarding" the snake and that he will send me a weekly feeding report on Saturdays. In addition he said that he can take additional pictures for me of the animal and that he will pick the best looking of the male VPIs that he produced this year. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from our dealings thus far. I will be paying for this guy tomorrow! Excited for sure.
