If you had a choice between...
My boyfriend and I are contemplating buying some new snakes.
If you had a choice between:
a pairing of a male spider and a female pastel BP's
or a female green tree python that is hand tame,
which would you go for?
We're thinking the BP pair because we'd love to try and get some bumblebee's out of them, but the GTP would be really cool also.
-
to me it depends on the exact snake in question. if your female pastel is really browned out i would say gtp. And it depends on the GTP, which local type is it? Color? Parents? Lineage? i would need pics of all animals in question before i could get a honest answer. sorry but thats opinion.

GTP whether it was tame or not. a much nicer looking snake and a spider or pastel. plus bees are worth much either.
-
Id take the gtp bc i already have 8 bps and dont really like spider combos.

i am going to be honest, and don't hate me for it. i would breed your bps, your GTP is nice, but it is not something i would look for offspring from to add to my collection.
when i was looking for my GTP i talked to a few breeders that has noes for sale at the time, they were able to show me pictures of the parents, and grandparents. I chose mine by looking at the pictures of the parents/grandparents to decided on the one i have. the father was a lime green with a full baby blue dorsal stripe and blue speckling all over, the mother was a jayapura type with a strong dorsal baby blue stripe(broken in some spots) and a very blue sides. i was shown pictures of the parents of the male who was produced by Greg maxwell. this is also the reason i spend a lot more $$ them people who buy from "breeders" who get farmed babies and sell them a quick as possible, and give no information on them(linage, parents, feed cards), and sell babies "sexed" before 12-18 months old. sorry to be harsh, but since i am looking to get a small GTP breedings going on in a few years i am looking for all the information on the parents and grandparents i can get, and trying to get the bluest(and HY lines) possible to get a strong breeding of high blue lines(and HY one day) and not to mention people who breed GTP will tell you when babies are hatching it is a stressful time, trying to get all babies established before they can be sold, and making sure they are as healthy as possible. since i purchased my GTP as a neo, i am waiting until his/her color is fully changed before i find a mate, that way i can find the perfect mate for him/her, to active the highest blue animals i can for my price range starting off.
if you don't mind me asking where did you get your GTPs from?
sorry for being so mean:(

Oh these aren't my snakes, these are just snakes that my boyfriend and I are contemplating buying. If we got the BP's, then we might breed them in the future, but for now they would just be to play with and all that fun snake stuff.
If we got the GTP, we wouldn't breed her, she would just be a display snake (and get her out regularly to keep her tame), so we're not really worried about her lineage and whatnot.

We've decided to buy the BP's. Going to pick them up tomorrow! :D

Good luck on the new additions!
