Doesn't mean it's not safe...I'm not a fan of tofu but people eat that stuff all the time with no bad results.

.... Yeah tofu sucks!
Re: Is it safe to Refreeze ?
I think it also depends how long you let it sit out. I've taken a microbiology class for school and it's really changed my thoughts on things. If you've left the mouse/rat out for an extended time (like over night or even as short as an hour), I wouldn't refreeze.

I've seen far too much refrozen meat in my life to believe it's any good. I wouldn't eat it or feed it to people, my dogs, or my snakes. It's just too far along in the process of decay. But then again, I work with food every day, so maybe I'm just overly cautious with food safety matters.
Re: Is it safe to Refreeze ?
I think the smartest thing for me to do, to keep from wasting food, is to offer my difficult feeder her meal the day before my regular feeding day. That way if she refuses, then I can offer her thawed rat to the trash compactor who always eats. I only have 2 snakes that are large enough to take adult rats, luckily 1 of the two has never met a meal she didn't like. I just won't thaw a rat for my great eater until I see if miss picky is going to eat or not.
thanks for all the advice
