Acrylic display case

I was wondering if anyone had plans for building the acrylic vendor displays? I looked online and could not find any. If you guys have any pointers please help! ;)

I don't have any specific plans, but it seems like you could do it with plexiglass and silicone. Just build a box shape and use a flat stick to even out the silicone before it dries. You could use hinges with screws for the door, just drill a hole just a bit smaller than your screw before you put it in, otherwise it will destroy the sheet of plex. Good luck!

Plexiglass will reject Silicone after a time and the project will become unstable. Silicone works with Glass. If you do want to use Plexiglass, ensure you get the best quality and thickness you can (it will sag over time) and use angled corners with screws to hold it together, or a frame, or something similar.

For building things out of acrylic/plexiglass, you would want to use a solvent, usually something like weld-on #4The edges of your peices have to be relatively smooth, so you get could capillary action when applying the solvent. The solvent will pretty much mend the peices together permantly.

Haha. It's all good. I built a plexiglass and silicone water feature for an enclosure, so I found out right away just how quickly it degrades. It was not a pleasant experience, I'll tell you that much. No need to apologize. I found this out the hard way is all :taz:
