Just adopted (2 free females) are these just normals?? Thanks **(PIC HEAVY)**
Hi everyone!
My friend got these two off someone, and decided to give them to me, as she knows I would take better care of them. They are currently under weight (481 grams each) and are both under fed. I have no clue of their last meal. They are both truly skinny, and need to gain some weight back. Didn't find any mites, they sounded great (no clicking, or fuzziness in their breath). The one in the pic, shed today.
Here is one to show. The other one is in shed, and has similar markings and colour as my het red axanthic, which I will pair up with anyways. Bellies are both clear, unlike my male normal that is checkered heavy.
If you think these are just normal, I'm ok with that. If you see any signs that I might have missed, don't hesitate. Thanks

Pretty normals. Are you sure they are girls ? I wouldn't take the owners word for it, most people don't have a clue. Good for you to take them in, it can be a lot of work, but it feels good to help these guys out when you can.

honestly, I am not sure yet. Is it too late to try and pop them? I have got someone to prob the first two snakes I had. If they are males, then my ratio is 3:7 :-( lol.
So, the one male I have that is checkered heavy, that's still a normal too, as these two new ones are clear from top to bottom?

Both Normals. Also, you might consider removing the green tape from the enclosure. If you need to make the edges dull, you can sand them down or use a soldering iron to smooth/melt down the plastic. Do a quick search and you'll see how frequently armless creatures get themselves tangled up and injured by tape :)

Normals are amazing. They come in all kinds of patterns and shades of the gold and brown. I've seen normals so dark they were almost black, so light they looked hypo, so reduced they looked like an enchi, and so busy you couldn't count the spots. Clear belly, checkered belly, even a few with a black band down the middle of their belly.

The hides were a quick make, as I got texted today asking if I could take these. So, it's just a temp solution for now.
Thanks Gale for the info. My next step is to just make sure they are indeed, females. So, is it too late to pop them (481 grams, and 483 grams)?
If so, I'll ask around to see if someone can probe them. :)

Wow they are so long for only weighing 481 grams. They have to be at least a couple of years old.

Yes, they are older. In the 2-5 years of age. Which is why I said under weight, and under fed. I feel really bad for them, but luckily....I have 10 pregnant females, and just had four great sized litters of mice. I now have 10 bps, so lots of hungry mouths. I will concentrate on these two new ones, and get them to where they should and need to be.

I dont believe its to late to pop them. just make sure the person that's doing it is experienced with it. I've popped 5' 3000 gram boys before with no trouble but then again i've had to check 200 gram babies multiple times to be certain. good luck and congrats on the adoption.

They can be popped at any age
