    Missing corn snake!
My daughters baby/juvenile corn snake is missing. We are on vacation and I noticed my pet sitter had called me 4 times and was texting me about answering my phone. I knew right away something was really wrong. "Jelllybean" got out sometime last night. I'm not sure how the snake got out. It was a screen lid with clips and I'm not sure if the sitter did not put the clips on right or what and my only concern is finding the snake. We did not tell our 9 year old. We had the sitter defrost 3 pinkies and put them in each room upstairs and he stuffed a towel under each door. We will be home tomorrow afternoon. Any other ideas? My daughter is very attached to "Jellybean" and I know she is going to be very very upset.Thank you in advance.

What kind of decor do you have in the tank? How big is Jellybean? I have seen where snakes seemingly disapeared, but were in fact wedged inside of some silly decoration in their tank. Like a skull or something. If its a hatchling corn, that is itty bitty and could be anywhere.

Jellybean is 16 inches and is 26 grams.

We arrive home today and looked though the enclosure and no snake. We tore our upstairs apart and did not find Jellybean. :( Feeding night is Sunday so we are hoping he/she comes out then.

Maybe try putting a regulated heat pad in the middle of the room (or somewhere very visible: maybe put a hide on top of the UTH) and leaving it be for a bit to see if the warmth brings Jellybean out?

    Re: Missing corn snake!-Found!!!!!
My daughter and I are very happy to report Jellybean has been found a little thirsty but looks fine.

We really looked everywhere yesterday and tonight was feeding night for the ball python that is in my room. About 10 minutes after feeding my younger daughter went in to grab a tshirt on my bureau and there was Jellybean on the floor!

Thanks for the ideas and for taking the time to read and reply it helped. Most of her friends don't like snakes so they really don't understand.

Oh awesome! I am so glad you found Jellybean. :) Those little guys are so good at escape and they can fit through the teeniest, tiniest holes.

I'm glad you found the snakie. I've had a corn snake and a king snake escape before with much different results. Could never find the babies again.

It is always nice to see a happy ending.
