The more I look at this normal...

I'm really bad at identifying morphs and what not, but the more I look at this snake, the more I wonder if she's truly a normal. I picked her up for free because she isn't eating and the owner didn't want her anymore. Anyway, I've been researching and to me she looks like a black back? I'm just super curious! What do you think? Either way, I'm just stoked to have scored such a kick ass snake, and she is sweet as can be as well!

"Black back" isn't a morph, it's just a description of a trait feature. She does display some black back tendencies, as well as reduced pattern. Both of which are descriptive terms and not morphs. Sometimes these traits can be passed on through careful selective breeding, but it's not the same as the predictably genetic morphs.

No matter how you look at it though, she's a beauty! Glad she seems to have found a good home!

Yes, she is a partial black back, but that is more of a description than an actual morph. However, by selectively breeding for the black back look, you can create some amazing animals.

I am so glad you decided to give her a chance. I've done a few rescues of my own. Most recently I took in 10 ball pythons from a meth house.
