How do you FEEL on this Matter??
    Good Morning Peeps:D

I am wanting some opinions or feedback to the subject....How do you guys/gals feel about leaving Ball Python Eggs with the female to incubate them?

Once my female lays here eggs (Which she should be with 2 1/2 weeks) I was thinking about letting her sit on them til they hatch...at the same time I dont want to lose any so I want to put them in an incubator!

What are your guys/gals thoughts on this subject?:D:D

    Thanks!!

There is a sticky at the top of this forum section on maternal incubation.

My personal opinion is thus. Incubating in an incubator is the only way to go for ME. However other's have their own feelings. But to me if you have put in a lot of hard work and money breeding your pythons you want to have the best possibility for the highest hatch rates. In an incubator you can control everything very precisely. If the mother is to incubate them you have to keep her enclosure very precise and even then it's not going to be as spot on as an incubator. An argument you will here often is well they do it just fine in the wild. Well my snakes aren't living in the wild and when you have put some money into them you want to have has ah high of hatch rates as possible.

    Just my 2cents.

Another reason to use an incubator is the female will probably go back to feeding much sooner if you take the eggs away.

I feel it would be awesome to have a clutch hatch using the maternal incubation method.

I prefer to get my females eating as quickly as possible after laying.

Some females will eat on eggs, others won't, whether you maternally incubate or use an incubator is entirely a personal choice.
Can you give the mom the correct humidity and temps to incubate properly?
If so then by all means give it a go.

If you're not sure you can give the mom the correct husbandry and it's a clutch you highly value, and you don't want to risk losing any, then I'd stick with an incubator.

Way too difficult, there are so many things that can go wrong. I throw my eggs in the bator and don't have to think about them.
