A few pinkies!

I am new to breeding rats, built three new diy racks and this morning found these little guys! I know it's a small litter but she is a first time mom and I have been raising the rats since pups!

I know how excited you are, couple of my rats just had their first litters!

That IS a small litter!
I gotta say even though my rodents are feeders i still get excited seeing them have litters. I love rodent breeding.

I had my first litter 2 months ago!! I love seeing them grow :) I have some that are just ready to open there eyes so cute!

Bigger litter than one of my first timers had a month ago! Just one, she was from a litter of 17 and i was thinking " oh crap, babies are stuck and I have to go to the vet!", but alas, she's just not a good breeder :(

I Just hit litter number six = P My rats have been weird though. I know baby stealing occurs, but Ive got two mothers that want nothing to do with those babies, and one mother whose taken all three litters for herself twice now. She had 23 the first time(her biological litter was only 3) and her second set of litters was only 18(her biological litter was 6 this time. Better, but still not great.) She's a great mother, but doesnt produce much, and Ive got two bad mothers that do just fine XDD

:banana: I woke up and discovered one of my 3 pregnent ladies had a small first litter of 5 yesterday! WOOT! Its funny how exciting it is! I know the other 2 are close to dropping and I was surprised that my biggest girl who I paired a few weeks ago had not dropped. Shes HUGE! She went from 235g to 310g! Shes so fat! I am thinking she is gonna have a pretty massive litter but I bought her as a big ole rat meant to be fed but I thought she was just so cool looking and decided I would add her to my rack!

Went into the garage about an hour ago and thought I would check on me rats and sure enough the big girl was dropping her litter! There were only three and she still looked huge so I didnt hang around for fear of freaking her out but I will post some pics tomorrow! Haha! This is fun! :D
