Need help :(

So i took my Bumble Ball python out, and had him on the balcony, when i looked at his head closely, he has little tiny white bugs crawling on him, not many, around 4-8? WTH are these? I thought mites are black? If it is mites, i just need a confirmation, and could you give me some steps of what i should do first-last? Is too much humidity also a factor? Thanks!!!

Pictures? What type of substrate do you use? Been to any reptile shows or collections recently? Need more info.

Aspen, and i just gave him a bath, they came off, i searched and found that they aren't mites because i have no wood in there and they are white, tiny bugs. I think it's because of my humidity but, just to make sure, mights aren't white, right?

The only mites I've seen are black/brownish. If your humidity is high enough to encourage bugs to live in there, you definitely need to lower it. Aspen will form nasty black mold if it stays too wet. What is your humidity?

i had something on top of the tank, which was holding the humidity in. its at 50 im vacuuming out everything atm. whats the best substrate to use then?

I have thermostats, if i just put the paper towels on the heatpad is that fine? my temp checker broke... so im just wondering if i place paper towels, and the thermo stat read 88-93 degrees is that fine or.. is the temp going to be diff?

Paper towels are fine as a substrate, especially if you want to make sure the bugs are really gone, but they don't hold humidity well. I use cypress, especially in the winter when ambient humidity is lower, but you shouldn't have had any humidity-related issues at 50%. If your temps were good before the thermometer broke (assume that's what you meant by "temp checker"?), then they should be ok until you get another one, but I wouldn't put it off any longer than necessary (few days at most). If you are concerned, I would lower the thermostat setpoint a couple of degrees in the meantime, just to be safe.

Im just going to place paper towels in all my tanks from now on. Ill keep the water bowl near the heat pad to keep some humidity flowing. Im lowering the temps about 2 degrees, thanks for the help :)

No problem. One thing - putting the water bowl over the heat will encourage bacterial growth in the water. That doesn't have to be a problem, just make sure you're changing it out every few days (good habit anyway).

I cleaned the tank and gave him a bath, cleaned everything in the tank. Are these the same as black mites? Is that enough, what I've already done.
