    Daytime temp drops?
Like the title says, do you drop temps during the day as well as night, or just night? It doesn't make sense to go from total regular hot spot to really cool. Am I wrong in presuming that?

Temps should be constant... Night drops are neither needed nor reccommended

Keep your hot side at 90 degrees and cool side at 80 degrees 24/7

I mean as far as breeding.

Still isn't necessary, people have bred without dropping temps...

Unless you have a high end thermostat with a ramping feature (slowly trasnitions between day temp and night temp over a period of time) there isn't much you can do.

In my bearded dragon set up my Herpstat 4 ramps the temperatures up and down between day and night temperatures

So my day temp is set to 105 during the day for 6 hours. Then over the next 6 hours the temperatures are slowly lowered to the night temp of 60 degrees (though my apartment stays much warmer than that so this is just to make sure that the lamp stays off at night time) after 6 hours at the night temp it starts ramping the temperatures back up to the day temp over 6 hours, and the process repeats.

I cool and I highly recommend it. I drop the temps at night, 10 degrees for 10 weeks. I've tried not cooling and I get much better results when I cool. When I didn't cool I got a lot of slugs. This year I didn't get a slug until after I had 50+ good eggs.

Do you drop at all during the day though?

Temp dropping is a personal preference. We don't drop our temps. We have a heated room set at 86 with no heat tape. Also started maternal incubation this year. Things have been going very well for us.

Uh, can someone just please answer the question asked? When breeding (from those that drop temps at night), do you drop temps at all during the day?

I do not drop temps during the day. I drop them at night only. I have had no issues doing it this way. But I only drop at night during breeding season other than that temps stay constant throughout the day.

Interesting, I would've thought that the regular day would have been represented dropping both. Thank you.
