talk about luck today

So today friday the 13th many believe in superstition some don't but sometimes things happen that you just keep in mind and make you wonder.

I went off to work this morning and the only thing on my mind was getting the job done and getting home. It's been raining here in Houston the last couple of days, the only thing i worry about is getting struck by lightning i know it's probably 1 in a million chances of being struck you just never know. So i wouldn't jinx myself i knocked on some wood and kept on working while the weather got worse. There i am mixing cement with one of my dad's workers when the power goes out, we think nothing of it and go inside to continue leveling the floor of a house.

we heard a loud bang and the house shook real bad we go outside and i couldn't believe it. we were just standing there 2 minutes before lightning hit a tree and knocked it over.

after all i feel kind of lucky i wasn't under there mixing cement when it all came down

Wow that's nuts.

A few years back I had a similar experience with hurricane Charlie... after the storm passed we went outside and and found that all of the many (10+) trees around our house had been blown down but thankfully they had all fallen away from the house. Any one of them could have completely crushed the house. I'm not superstitious or religious... but it was like there was a force field bubble around our house that night.

yeah i know what you mean we went inside the house when the electricity went out so im thinking if the electricity hadn't gone out we would of still been mixing cement where the tree fell and maybe even hit us
