They often breath heavy as babies, that's nothing to worry about.

Are there bubbles in or around her mouth? When she breaths, does she make a gurgly sound? Do you see any mucus residue on the sides of her bin/aquarium?

Heavy breathing is normally just a sign of stress in a young BP. What is your cage setup (hides, temperatures, substrate, etc.)? The stress could come from insufficient security - hides are too large, not enough hides, too large of a tank without "clutter" to fill it in, etc. Were you moving him/her to a separate tub to feed? If so, there isn't any need and you could actually cause a refusal from the added stress of moving tanks/tubs.

Was there any wheezing when when she was breathing? Or any bubbles? Those are typical signs of RI. She could just be breathing heavily due to stress, or if she is scenting the feeder maybe?

Edit: I was beaten to it :)

What are her temps, how are you measuring them and how are you heating her tank?

Is the uth regulated with a thermostat? How are you measuring the temps?

Please tell us everything about your setup. Pics would really help, too.

If you are using a UTH I doubt this is true. You are probably just using crappy thermometers and are getting an inaccurate reading.

A pic of your setup would help if you want some help fixing it to be ideal for your ball python. :)
