New here!

...and new to reptiles! This is our first snake. She's a ball python, and we've named her Isis. ♥

She's extremely sweet. Hasn't even hissed at us once, never rears back or makes any attempts to bite either. We handle her very gently, and with much respect. :)

We were told she was born in December, and she's around 15 inches long. She's also currently shedding, so we haven't handled her too much. She just started to visibly peel today, so we're thinking of giving her a warm bath tomorrow if she doesn't get it all off within the next day or two. The humidity in her tank is currently around 65-70%.

I would strongly recommend that you do not soak your BP. All soaking does is remove the oils necessary for shedding, and stressed them out.

Ah, thanks so much for that! I've been doing a lot of reading over the last week, and from what little I've found on shedding, I was under the assumption a warm bath would help. We'll refrain from that now. :)

I soak my snakes if they have a bad shed, in fact I literally just got done soaking a mojave. For some reason he had a bad shed and bumping up the humidity in his tub didn't work so I soaked him. It's not that one stuck shed will hurt them, it just looks bad. Stuck sheds can pile up and cause serious problems, but one stuck shed usually doesn't harm the animal. I gave the mojave 2 weeks to try and get it off himself in higher humidity, but it was still stuck. If you soak the snake, don't put any soap or oil in the water, just plan old 85-90 degree water and a towel. You'll use the towel to run down the snake and gently peel off the stuck shed once it's soft. 15 minutes usually does the trick, sometimes you have to do it for another 15. As long as your humidity is right you shouldn't have problems with stuck sheds but they do happen every now and again.
