This is a hypo, right?

Rescued this little girl from a friend at work's ex-girlfriend. She was handled so much that she stopped eating, was kept in a 20gal long with an unregulated UTH and heat rock with no water. Apparently her previous owner stopped trying to feed her because she wouldn't eat. She's also missing a few toes and is pretty thin for her size.

But! She's been feasting on waxworms the last few days (they're the only worms I could find up here. No one that I know of in Alaska sells super or phoenix worms, but I'm looking online.) and has been defecating regularly. As far as morphs go, I'm not too well-known on leos. From what I found on Google, she looks to be a hypo, yes?

If those black spots on her fade completely away as she grows she will be a super hypo, and it looks like she will. Also, there is a good amount of orange in the tail, enough that I would call her a carrot tail. So, I would venture a guess that she will end up being a super hypo carrot tail, or SHCT. I believe that most people go by the 15% rule with CT, however, so if 15% of the tail or more is orange then you have a CT. I can't really tell if there is 15% or more orange on her tail but from the looks of it I'd say CT.

I agree with gsarchie ( sorry hun Idk your real name! ) I'd say she is a SHCT.
You should be able to find mealies online, and just give her waxworms as treats. They are high in fat and a high fat diet can cause fatty liver disease.

Super Hypo Carrot Tail... Man, what a mouth full! Hahah, now I feel kinda bad that I'm not planning on breeding leos.

As far as meal worms go, I don't know if she's strong enough to break the exoskeleton. Now I've heard before that mealies' exoskeletons can survive digestion and eat their way out... Is that true, or just a myth?

It's just a myth, I believe. I honestly haven't seen any gecko die from a mealworms eating its way out. They chomp their food a lot, usually, before swallowing. I feed all of mine mealworms, even hatchlings, and I've never had a problem.

No they won't grow back, but she will be just fine. Just make sure when she sheds that she doesn't have any stuck to her toes. That's how she lost the ones that are gone now.
