    cage size?
    Is a 3' by 1', 3" okay for a juvenile snake? I just got this cage today.. Do I need to fill it with more branches and stuff?
    Yay! all I need is substrate, hides, uth and thermostat till I het my snake... :p

    I use 24" x 24" x 12" cages for young BP's. I don't really even clutter them up. Just 2 really good hides and a water dish.

    So yes I think you will be fine.

    3" tall? that's a little short in my opinion. Footprint also seems a little big for a juvenile. You can use it but I would agree that cluttering it up with decorations and what not is a good idea.

    Ha, I mean it is one foot three inches tall and on the shorter sides of the rectangular shape of the cage. Thanks for the input!
    PS Ideas/influence for not having to actually adhere the heat mat to the cage, cause I don't really want to do that...:taz:

    Peel of the paper and then stick tin foil to it. Heat won't bother it and won't effect heat output.

    I was so scared before cuz I thought I threw out the thermometer/hydrometer:O:O:O

    But now I fell better.
    One (or maybe a few more steps closer!

    Now I need to save up again so I can buy the thermostat for the heat mat...:sigh2:

    also now I need to get creative and find some juvenile to adult hide box thingies.. thx guys!

    ^ What substrate will you be using?

    For hides I get $1 plastic bowls from Walmart and make little entrances for them. When they're bigger I move to plastic kitty litters pans with entrances cut into those. Nice and cheap, just sand down and smooth the edges.
