    Differant Sized Rats...???
I got some rat feeders at the White Plains Reptile Expo yesterday, and they are way bigger than i am used to seeing. The rat fuzzies i got are the size of rat pups and the rat pups i got are the size of small rats??? What were they feeding these things??? The rat pups i am used to getting weigh about 22 grams, these weigh 32 grams. Any reason why such a differance??? Just curious...

Because there is no standard for rodent sizes... Something we as the reptile community should really create.

I consider a rat pup something between 14 and 20 days, which obviously translate as a difference in size which can be 10+ grams. Also if the same age for example 14 days old there can be a difference also some are small while some are much larger, size depend on sex, how many babies are in the litter, genetics etc.

I tend to use Rodent Pro as my standard for sizes, since they have all the details listed right there on the page.

My supplier is about 10-15% larger than rodent pro. There is quite a variation supplier to supplier. I always ask about what the weights are, it is easier to determine.
