    Ball Python aging/color changing
    Afternoon, everyone!

Got one of those 'easy' questions where I couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for. So I'm going to clutter up the forum a bit with a topic that might have already been covered.

Of course baby ball pythons change colors slightly, depending on genetics, morph and quality of their parents. Such is the case with Pastels and whatnot.

I recently put payment down for a lovely little Pied that I'm very excited for. He's a 70% Pied with the same 'stripe' running down through his broken patterns. Beautiful head marking and what appears to be almost a smiley face on one of his patterned sections.

I've heard mention that BPs that are exhibiting higher concentrations of 'Orange' in their pattern will eventually 'Brown out' (again, referring to Pastels as a known one for this happening).

As it is, his pattern already is quite dark and heavily orange. Personally, I think he'll look quite dashing with a 'dark' pattern. I suppose I'm just wondering if the 'Orange turns to Brown' trait behaves the same in all morphs, or if Pieds/other morphs behave differently?

He's going to be a pet of mine, so I'm definitely not upset one way or another. I just have a sneaking hunch he's going to lose most of his 'rich tones' and they'll darken as he gets older.

True? Sometimes? Depends on the snake/genetics? :confuse:
