Egg Dilemma, Need Some Help

I opened up my egg tub to check on the eggs and am a little concerned. One egg has a very clear part to it (picture provided), almost transparent. Another egg, also pictured, looks wrinkly and almost caving in. As you can see I am using vermiculite. I was told to do a 50/50 mix by weight, but I added a little more water because it still wasn't wet enough. Now it clumps when pressed together but does not drip water.

Also forgot to mention, that the eggs are still soft but they feel like they are to explode with fluid. Idk if that's normal or not since I've never done this before. But they feel full full FULL of liquids.

It looks like the vermiculite is too wet. I use a light diffuser and have had no problems with my eggs although this is only my second year. With the light diffuser the vermiculite can be soaked and no impact to the eggs. I also don't have any holes on my tubs.

Last year I killed my first clutch ever due to my vermiculite being too wet with almost same setup you are using then the change to light diffuser no problems ever since.

I would not worry about the bumps too much not every egg is perfect.

Thanks for the info. The bumps worry me though because they were not there when laid.

I have seen worse on this forum and they hatched with no problem. I am sure others will chime in soon to help you out.

How old are the eggs? Hard to say how good of condition they are in without knowing the age. For 10 days not so good for 35-40 days not bad

Have you candled the eggs to make sure they have good veins in them?

All the eggs have been candled and the veins were there. The eggs aren't even 10 days old which is why I am worried. Today I bought a diffuser and put it in there. Upon lifting the eggs out of the vermiculite, I noticed that the part of the egg that was buried was perfect. Only the top exposed parts are ugly like that. So I'm convinced it is due to perhaps not enough humidity on top. So I added a little more water to the vermiculite, put the eggs on a diffuser, and cling wrapped the top of the box. Hopefully this works. If not I will bury them into the vermiculite almost completely since the buried portion of it is perfect.

For those of you who are following. I have put the eggs on a diffuser and added more water. It looks, although it could just be my mind playing tricks on me, that the bumps have gone down some. I have also decided to add a small bowl with water inside the tub to help raise humidity as much as possible. I see absolutely no condensation anywhere in the tub, so I'm hoping that the added bowl will allow some condensation to build without dripping onto the eggs.

The clear windows are normal, unless they start to change colors. Then it usually means the egg is dying. I use the exact same sub-strait with the same way the check the moisture. I use styrofoam coolers cut down to size with a glass lid. I also put cling wrap on the under side of the glass. I'm not sure why it helps, but it does for me. I have not tried the light diffuser only because I'm worried that the eggs may roll. I bury mine and use a brush to clean the top off, exposing about 1/5 of the egg.

Everyone has their own way. This way has been working for me for the last 4 years and I got my first clutch of the season on Saturday. 5 eggs from a Pastel female x Mojave male. Come on Pastave:D

I'm hoping the eggs bounce back. They aren't looking to bad anyway, I just hope they don't go down hill from here. Most of the eggs (the part that was buried) is perfect.
