Quick question

So normally I feed my bp fatter live rat pups. The pet store didn't have any so I got their smallest small rat. My snake is 200 grams. Ill weigh the rat when home. Is it to much?

Some stores small rats are much larger than others. But the average seems to be 50 grams... Far too big for a 200 gram BP.

You would be much better off skipping a meal than forcing one that is too big.

Yeah I weighed it and its 70 grams. Now I have a pet rat. What do I do with it? Its coming out from being dumb cause I thumped it.

Any chance that you can take it back and maybe exchange it for an appropriately sized mouse?
Otherwise, you will need a rat set-up...

If you have a scale, I recommend taking it with you to the pet store and weighing the prey there. That is what I do, so that I know I am getting the right sizes... :gj:

Will BPs even try to eat/ kill rats that are to large for them?

Some will some won't kill too large of prey. Some will even try to eat it but when or if they can't get it down will spit it back out. This also depends on what you consider too large of prey I guess. I consider something above 15% too big.
