Water Dish Question

Just was wonderinghow large a water dish has to be (generaly) for a full grown BP. And also I have a tupperware container I plan on using (nice and shallow,bout 8 inches across) should I leave it completely open, or put the lid on it with a descent hole cut into the top?

i'd just leave it open... you can pretty much figure the size of the dish by the size of the bp.

One thing you might want to check before putting the tupperware bowl in there is how easily it tips over. Fill it with water to the level you plan on using, then put some pressure on the side, mimicing the weight of the snake as it crawls over the edge. It may tip over because it's such a light-weight bowl.

Big enough for the snake to soak comfortably. And yes, they do soak :)

How often to bp's soak? I've only had my bp about a week now and its very young, but I never see it soaking, or even really drinking the water for that matter.

I've discovered that if the water dish has fake plants in it, a bp will be more at home in soaking. They love to hide in the plants and feel secure. It also helps if the water is nice and warm.

They typically soak whenever they feel like it, lol. Mine do it more often around sheds.
