    Egg bound "update"
Hi folks. As some may know, my female normal held back one egg for some reason. Well today I had a friend of mine, who is a breeder, help me aspirate the egg. The bulge of where the egg is has gone down alot and I'm hopin that she will be able to pass it.

One question. I haven't fed or even tried feeding her since she laid the eggs for fear of causing more complications. Should I feed now? Or wait a while to see if she passes the egg? Thanks.

I just went through the nightmare of having an eggbound female as well...the thread can be read here http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...911!-Need-help!

But I fed her throughout the ordeal. They need as much calcium as they can get, and make sure shes well hydrated.

Hope things work out for you!
    Good luck

    We massaged it out.
It took a lot of force but it needed to be done. A calcified egg just doesn't seem to be able to be passed naturally. Otherwise they wouldn't be egg bound I suppose lol.

We basically worked it out little by little by applying pressure behind the egg, until it's expelled through the cloaca.

She's doing great now. I'm afraid if we wouldn't have gotten it out, surgery would have been necessary, but far more risky.
