Eggs Cut!

It looks like you got some very nice babies! What was the pairing?
They should start peeking out within the next couple of days.
The one thing I would recommend for next time you cut though is to leave the flaps on that you cut off.

Do you think it will hurt having cut off the flap?

Can't wait to see the babies! I haven't had eggs yet, but from what I have read, when you leave the flap it will "kinda" re-seal to help keep from drying up. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

That is what I thought as well but was done when you are cutting really early. I figured since I was only cutting one day early I didn't want to do that.

What temperature is your incubator set at, and what was the pairing? I ask because it appears that their colors are still a little light/underdeveloped, but this may just be due to the specific lighting, or morph. We cut at day 50, and used to see underdeveloped colors until we made a better incubator, adjusted the temps, etc, and now colors are brighter at day 50, and everyone is climbing out a couple days later.The colors will fill in in a couple days. For now, you just wait and let them crawl out :)

The temp was set to 89°F and today is day 56. The pairing is from a male Spider Orange Ghost(Honeybee) and a Female Pastel Het. Orange Ghost.

Im hoping for at least one Humble Bee, which is what I'm guessing the light colored one is!

From that pairing I think the color looks pretty good on the babies. You can tell in one that looks like an Orange Ghost and one that looks like just a Spider that their color seems about right. The 1 or 2 that are really light Spiders look like you hit on your Humblebee to me!
The flaps are to help keep them from drying out and also to help prevent any bacteria from getting into the eggs. Since you cut on day 55 I doubt it will be a problem, but just keep an eye on them and if they start drying out or the fluid in them starts turning really yellow rinse them out with some saline solution. Just make sure the saline is in the incubator so it is the same temp as the fluid in the eggs.

Haha sorry, I think you said that earlier, but since I'm usually posting between doing stuff at work, I didn't actually see the updated posts until after I'd submitted mine :P
