    Donation on behalf of BP.net
    Hey Guys,

Some of you may have noticed a thread on here (http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...nd-help-BP-net!!) about members of this online community coming together to obtain our weight loss goals.

I had pledged $20 for every member who worked on promoting their health and sticking to their new years resolutions by losing 20lbs, between the 1rst of January and July 1rst - up to $100.00. I am happy to say that a few of us managed to reach that weight goal and I am happy to donate the money to a charity/organization of the forum's choosing, on behalf of ball-pythons.net.

The point of THIS thread is to give everyone in the forum the opportunity to suggest charities or organizations that you think should receive the donation. Please feel free to make suggestions here and I will take a vote once I receive nominations.

I don't want to publish the names of the members who participated without their consent so I am working on contacting everyone who was a part of this. If you have lost 20lbs in the last 6 months please send me a PM or respond in this thread so that we can hit the $100.00 mark. I would really like us to make the full donation!!

Thank you to everyone who participated, and to those who offered their support!

    Cheers,
    Chris.

These are the suggestions I have already received:

    Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation,
    Rocky Mountain Rescue Group,
    Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC).

And if you would like to limit it to one choice per person make it RMRG, or Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. These guys and gals are regular people that volunteer their own time and money to help those in trouble in the mountains west of Denver. I've hiked and camped here numerous times and thankfully never had to meet them! Taken from the website: "RMRG is an all-volunteer, charitable non-profit, IRS 501(c)3 corporation. RMRG does not charge for rescue or other services." Just two days ago the body of a friend of a friend was found near the trailhead to two popular mountains west of Denver. This group provides valuable services at NO COST to taxpayers and many times, as was the case on tuesday, they didn't conduct a search and rescue but a search and body recovery. Anyway, here is a link to the site, and my vote is RMRG.

    Cheers!

I lost 20! Well actually, it was 42, but who is counting?!

I vote USARK as well. It seems appropriate.

I am actually very happy you suggested this one!

My Mother has been blind since birth and I love programs like this one that help people with disabilities. I've spent my fair share of time around guide dogs, and other specially trained animals - They are amazing, and the people who train them are fantastic.
