    Questions about Morphs
I am going to purchase a Butter Spider male if I breed it to a Lesser other than the lottery winning BEL what would come out of that clutch?

Spider 50% Het lessor or 50% Het Butter or normal 50% Het?

Lessers/Butters are not recessive. So, no, you wouldn't end up with Het Butter/Lesser. They either are or they aren't that morph :snake:

For exact calculations on that clutch (as I don't breed and I'm not familiar with those lovely squares), I'll leave that to those who can give you exact information.

Het is only for recessive genes not showing the morph and neither of these are recessive. Also butters and lessers are the same morph to most people, if not they are very similar and compatible for bels.

Here is what world of balls says about that pairing.

    12.5%|1/8|Normal
    12.5%|1/8|Lesser
    12.5%|1/8|Spider
    12.5%|1/8|Lesser Bee
    12.5%|1/8|Butter
    12.5%|1/8|Butter Lesser
    12.5%|1/8|Butter Bee
    12.5%|1/8|Butter Lesser

    Go to worldofballpythons.com
They have a genetics calculator you can play around with.

You mean there is no butter lesser spider??? I know theres not really a way to tell w/out black light to see the pattern but a butter spider to lesser should possibly produce a butter lesser spider right?

There will be Butter Lesser Spider (BEL Spider).

But most people try not to breed Butter/Lesser together due to their ability to produce deformed bug eyed BELs.

Personally, I'm doing a mojave/lesser pairing to achieve the BEL.

I think that last 'butter lesser' is supposed to say 'butter lesser spider' as it is listed twice on the table.

Here is what I would recommend regardless of the pairings you wish to accomplish in the future: Research, research, research, anything from understanding genetics to breeding, to morphs with issues etc. :gj:
