    Jaguar Boa
So guys... I think I can provide some clarity on the Jaguar Gene. I crossed my Pastel Albino female with my low expression Jaguar female. The Jaguar female is from Frank Martin's stock and was a possible Het Albino. She didn't prove out the as Albino, but did provide some clarity regarding the Jaguar gene. I purposely used the low expression female to see what visuals the offspring show. The mother is from a litter of very abbreant and visual Jaguars with reverse stripes up to 3/4 down thier bodies.

The genetics of the Jaguar morph have not yet been completely proven, but all of the evidence and my particular breeding points toward this being a co-dominant trait (or one can argue incomplete dominance just as easily), with the Jaguar with Rosettes Saddles being the heterozygous form, and the Jaguars with reverse stripes in addition to the Rosettes being the homozygous, or super, form.

I’ve asked many well known breeders and have received conflicting reports. Mark the Boamaster agrees with me that it is a co-dom or at the very least an incomplete dominance. He is well into his Jaguar project and has crossed it with other morphs to prove it out. At the same rate, Jimi from JimiSnakes believes they are het. One of the first folks to dive into the Jaguar projects after Frank Martin was Andy Federico. Andy also concurs that the Reverse strip is heterozygous but the Jaguar gene is visible (saddles) in the first breeding.

Tell me what you guys think.

    Female X Female = :weirdface

I think there is a WW chromosome missing from that equation somewhere...
