    Trouble ID'ing hatchling fires
Has anyone else had trouble identifying hatchling fires? Are some very subtle and darker? I just hatched out a clutch that was sired by my fire male, 2 are unmistakably fires but 3 look almost normal but have very light head stamps exactly like fires and are slightly lighter than the definate normals in the clutch. I know all different morphs vary as well as normals but how can I be completely confident that these are fires or normals? I dont want to get rid of them as normals if they are fires and I def dont want to get rid of them as fires if they normals. I'll post pics tomorrow. Thanks, Aaron

I don't think that I'll be much help IDing them but I am excited about the pictures none the less! Have they had their first shed yet? Maybe it will be easier to tell them apart at that point...

Here they are. I hope you can see why I'm having trouble here. The one is a definate fire but the others are throwing me off with their lighter color, banding, and head stamps but look normal to me. I know that some low grade fires can be hard to ID, so here they are.

I took some pics with the flash and some without. Thanks

Looks like you got that 1 fire and the rest are normals :gj:.

That is also my consensus. The head stamps look exactly like a fire headstamp though especially the one at the top of the pic. I'll be getting rid of them as normals but in a way they look like really ugly fires sort of. IDK.

Top right in the first pic looks like a definite fire. The rest look normal TBH

Agreed with everyone else. I only saw 1 fire. Nice looking normals though.
