    Deworming wild caught snakes.
I'm not of the opinion that CB collections should be dewormed on any particular schedule, but what's the procedure on snakes just brought out of the wild? Anyone been through this process, either with a WC or a CB?

Requires a trip to the vet. They will handle how to do so.

It should be done by a vet. I personally believe that fecals should be done before treatment as different parasites respond to different drugs. It often requires two or more tests to be certain you have them not all parasites always leave evidence in every deification. and confirmation of the drugs effectiveness is should also be done. I believe the both CB and WC should be done periodically. Even frozen rats can pass parasites if they have not been frozen long enough and cold enough. I test my whole collection once or twice a year. I have found parasites in 3 snakes over the past 2 years. Even with all new snakes passing 2 fecals before leaving quarantine. being a spaz I had a friend do dissection on a sample of rats from 3 suppliers and of the 9 rats checked 2 had parasites.

Thanks for the replies. So how much does a fecal and treatment usually run? Is it pretty effective?

I do Fecals on all my snakes yearly Espceially the live feeders. Even captive Ball Pythons can get parasites from feeders so once a year I gather a bunch of snake poop and off to the vet I go costs about $40 a sample and I have caught 1 infestation early and was treated without an issue. I get my feeders from a reputable supplier so it can happen to anyone.
