    Hey everybody,
Well, as I told you all back around the beginning of this month I purchased a beautiful male specimen Ball Python to add to my collection of BPs.I could tell from the very beginning that Apok was something "Different" ....he is a very solidly built specimen about 3 feet long and has a somewhat different pattern than my other BPs...his eyes are a glittery gold and his head is more angular and wedge like...he actually has the look of a Reticulated Python.

And he is MEAN..... ...this Ball Python is NOT a fuddy duddy cuddle toy like my other BPs...he demands respect and has to be handled with care or he will not hesitate to nail you.He has got me several times at this point!!! He will permit handling as long as you do not approach his head from the front...he is very head shy and will strike if approached in too cavalier of a manner.I think I have managed to obtain one of the few Ball Pythons that is genuinely evil

I must admit that I find all this to be interesting.I have my other two BPs, Trinity and Cypher and they are playful little critters...but Apok is a serious snake and he keeps me on my toes...I truly respect him and I do not dislike him at all for being the way he is.He DOES permit me to work with him and handle him but it is on HIS terms...he does not like to be removed from his hide and he will hiss and let you know it.I think dealing with him is good training for my eventual goal some day of having a Reticulated Python.I am learning that not all snakes are holly-jolly critters...

It's cool that you're not holding it against him for being the way he is. He's just different. Heck, for that matter, he could be a cross and have his temperament affected by his bloodline.
