Cricket colony

So I have got a tank full of crickets, with Flukers brand food and drownless water. I have a question though, last night cricket started chirping last night and it was very loud, but i was wondering will they all start chirping? haha if so im going to have to find something to do with them because I wont be able to stand it..

Only the males chirp bc its a mating call. Im sure theres a way to tell the difference between males and females so just feed off most of the males in your colony.

Idk why a male cricket would be chirping in a tank full of hot cricket babes. You cant get much more desperate or lazy than that haha!

haha maybe hes just an outcast. Oh well ill try to feed him to my gecko tomorrow haha

FEMALES have a 3 pronged back side where as the MALES only have a two pronged one. The middle prong is called an "OVIPOSITOR" which is what the female uses to lay her eggs with.

Thats how you tell the difference :D

You should go with Gryllus crickets over the standard Acheta. Gryllus get bigger so a prewing (no chirping) is the same size as an adult Acheta that chirps non-stop. They are also more nutritious.
